In the fall of 2023, Alex and William were just one awkward first date away from swearing off online dating—at least for a while. Then fate (and a little misunderstanding) stepped in. William stumbled across Alex’s Hinge profile and, thanks to an Iron Bowl photo with her dad, assumed she was an Auburn fan. That tiny mix-up was all the excuse he needed to match and send a message.When Alex saw William’s profile, she was instantly drawn to his kind eyes and easygoing vibe. Their first date was at Back Forty Beer Company—despite the fact that William was gluten-free and couldn’t drink beer at the time! They laughed, connected over shared values, and discovered a mutual love for spending time with their family and friends.By date three, they both knew this was something special. From that point on, they’ve been inseparable. And by month two? They took the obvious next step: adopting their adorable puppy, Lila.

What is the RSVP deadline?We kindly ask that you RSVP by September 26th, 2026.

What is the dress code?The dress code is cocktail attire. Men should wear a suit or a nice blazer with dress pants, while women can opt for a cocktail dress, chic midi dress, or dressy separates.

Can I bring my children or a plus-one?While we would love to celebrate with everyone, we kindly request that only the individuals listed on your invitation attend. Due to limited space, we're unable to accommodate additional guests.

Is the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors, with paved walkways to and from the ceremony site. The reception will be held indoors.

Food allergies or dietary restrictionsWe will have gluten free and vegetarian options for our guests. If you have any specific dietary restrictions, please specify on your RSVP.

What is the best airport to use?Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and Huntsville International Airport (HSV) will be the most convenient airport options. Both being about 45 minutes to an hour away from Smith Lake and hotel accommodations.
